Im 80 now but I remember clearly 30 years ago I had to do some remodeling work at a public elementary school here in Michigan while classes were in session and these little basterds were running up and down the halls yelling and screaming between
classes and it was wild and it was just unbelievable, the teachers were standing by the classroom doors doing nothing, I asked one teacher about this behavior and she said it happens all day every day and there was nothing they could do about it, she
said if they laid one hand on any of those kids it would mean the end of their job, they worked in fear of losing their jobs, if they pissed off one of these kids and complained to mommy or daddy they in turn would complain to the school board you were Gone, no discipline whatsoever, no telling what these little basterds are up to today with cell phones and big macs and pop for lunch.

Thank you Boomer for that, it's probably best that you remain unaware of what some (not all) kids get up to these days.

Times have changed for sure and today continue to do so.

What an absolute mess everything is.

I remember the days when children were routinely sent for punishment to the headmaster's office, to be administered the cane.

Thinking about it now, I pray that's all they were subjected to.

Have my doubts though.
