Though I live in the West, I am familiar with Rock Creek Park from the days when my wife went to school in D.C. The park's terrain where Ms. Levy's body was ultimately found is much like that in California, Colorado and New Mexico where cattlemen graze their cattle on large hilly to mountainous ranches covered in trees.

As a cowboy, there's one smell you never forget.

It's called "dead calf smell". You can smell it from a mile away most times, especially in damp weather like you have in Washington. Even a dead calf weighing about 125 lbs. will produce that smell.

So let's look at the lack of airborne evidence in the Chandra Levy case. Rock Creek Park supposedly was thoroughly searched by the police, volunteers and even Boy Scouts. I guarantee you that if her body was in that park, one of those searchers, let alone police dogs, would have smelled the equivalent of dead calf smell.

Based on the science of dead calf smell, I am convinced that Ms. Levy's body was kept outside of the park for a long time after she was killed and only placed in the park much, much later, when the furor died down.

Whoever killed Ms. Levy was just darn lucky that 9/11 happened and pushed the "missing intern" story off the front pages of the Washington Post and out of the concerns of its readers who are D.C. voters, and thereby out of the forefront of the D.C. Police's concerns.

And when her body was brought back to Rock Creek Park and "found" sad to say but I bet it had that dead calf smell which was not sensed when the park searches after her disappearance first occurred.

I sure don't know who killed Ms. Levy, but s/he was the only lucky beneficiary of 9/11.

I wish the "forensic experts" would just tell the truth about the condition her body would likely have been in, even 2 weeks after she disappeared. Bottom line, you could never convince a cattleman that her body was in Rock Creek Park from the day she disappeared to the day her body was found.
