Everything is connected. Where we go one, we go all. They are in the position they are in because us collective idiots let them. We play their stupid games. Well, some of us don't, but most of us do. Here's what's gonna happen:

OK. Restaurants cost so much, so I don't go to them anymore. Tax base gone when others follow. The rich alone can't keep 'em alive. I switched from cream to half and half. Good luck selling enough of your over priced cream. I only drive when I have no choice, never for pleasure. . .not that I like driving. I just don't go places any more. The only thing I buy is food, cleaning supplies, and clothes when mine fall apart to become technically illegal. I don't buy junk food, and I can make my own stuff like Trader Joe's overpriced tabouli, not only better but way cheaper. . .

If I don't need it, I don't buy it. Others will follow. Not by choice maybe, but when economic activity goes on famine rations, the system will not stay in place. Of course life is gonna be a very inconvenient nightmare for a while, but oh well. According to my Akashic Memories, we asked to be here now to experience this garbage (I KNOW I did.), so we deserve what we get.
