If what I said in my addendum about KNOWING the future ... what CGI_Mike says is again moot. Having the net never having been born would solve a whole lot of problems before they started.
And then having certain people having never been born solves the problem again, even if the net went ahead as planned.
Seeing/knowing the future is useless if it doesn't work when you try to manipulate it/change it ...
IMHO ... it would take an army of Quantum type/based computers just to analyze data collected from said Looking Glass tech to determine which outcome will come to pass with only a small degree of accuracy at best.
It only takes ONE person ONE decision to change a timeline if there even is such a thing ... but that one person can change the course of that history as it unfolds.
What would have happened in WWII if the plot to assassinate Hitler had succeeded ?
A small group of people would have completely changed history.
In fact just the one who killed Hitler would have had that pivotal place in the timeline ... just one person.

I agree with Clif ... no multiple time lines BS at least in just one Universe ... one can steer that line but it never splits and ends up with two drivers ... if that happened and the two drivers end up colliding ? What happens ? With an infinite split of timelines and infinite incompetent drivers ... what happens ? Lots of accidents !
Infinite Universes is not something I dismiss but that sort of thing is akin to chaos waiting to happen ... I'm not sure Universe allows for that amount of chaos if any at all.

Multiple universes would certainly allow for freewill and allow for infinite timelines but again there even has to be limits in this scenario ... otherwise chaos would ensue due to just the traffic jams ... you know how rush hour can get ?
Either way ... we are on a one way road to either hell or heaven ...we have at least one hand on the steering wheel ... there may be another hand on that wheel we don't know about. But it will be up to US to figure that out and we only have short time to determine that ... time is very short.

If things don't turn around soon ... my personal situation looks like this ...
running out of money very soon ... have a bit of food backup for a few months and what money is left will only pay bills for a few months. I have already trained my body to get by with one small meal every 2 or 3 days ... only weigh about 140 lbs these days. If things get really serious ... suicide is not out of the question. Simply because I really have no idea what my purpose is here. I have no purpose here really ... so I figure suicide is an option if I never had a purpose here. Must of been an accident or mistake that I ended up here.
Oh yeah and gravity is really starting to be a bitch at only 59.
