I've been a lukewarm supporter of Senator Ted Cruz over the years and did not support his previous run for President due to his "natural born" constitutional issue. Hobie is correct in that Cruz doesn't have to be "natural born" to be a U.S. Senator. However, Senator Cruz has redeemed himself of late in my book with his fairly consistent support for President Donald J. Trump.

As a longtime First Responder in Texas law enforcement for over 20 years, I know a thing to two about what's relevant during emergencies, whether due to man or Mother Nature. What we don't need on the front lines during times of crisis are politicians pretending to be empathetic or sympathetic with citizens who need real solutions, not cold hugs and alligator tears.

Politicians are REMFs (look it up) who either come up with legislative solutions after the fact...or try to gain political advantage during and after the crisis rather than contributing anything constructive...ever.

Relevant question: IF...IF...if Ted Cruz was wrong for going to Cancun during the ice storm in Texas...WHERE were Texas' state and federal Democrat politicians during the ice storm? I never saw any newscasts or headlines where any state or federal Democrat pol was shown on the front lines doing anything useful to provide relief to Texans. I Googled it and found nothing. Why the double standard from the Democrats and their Deep State owned media? (Answer: It's what we've come to expect in this increasingly 3rd world banana republic.)

If the Republican AND the Democrat pols weren't on the front lines...whether one was in Cancun and the rest were lounging at home in front of their fireplaces...the end result was the same...NONE of them were on the front lines!! Which I have no problem with. They're not First Responders!! They're REMFs!!

There's a cartoon making the texting rounds showing Senator Ted Cruz dressed up as a lineman who climbed up a power pole and is asking, "Ok Texas, I'm up here on the power line what do I do next?"

Like seriously, folks? Is the DNC's propaganda bait about Senator Ted Cruz that irresistable? Maybe try some critical thinking skills for a change?
