Titanic is Olympic

This is an excellent video about this, under an hour long that really covers things you dont often hear about such as the court transcripts and that the California was not under 10 miles away, but the fact that (DURING A COAL STRIKE) they were all the way out in the middle of the Atlantic ocean with only a skeleton crew and the only cargo was woolen sweaters.

They pulled a judge out of retirement for the court proceedings. And the Olympic was used more like a speedboat by the "good" Captain Smith, and he had done severe damage to Olympic (ruined it) and other liners in the White Star Line before the "Titanic" sinking.

Also, they were told that Olympic should be scrapped as it was wrecked so many times that it was totally unsafe for passengers, but if several hundred thousand dollars in fixing up could get it out on a voyage, they stood to make several MILLION in insurance if it sank!!

Not a bad return on a ship they should have scrapped for only a few hundred thousand in losses.

(Where have we seen this type of behavior before? ... think, aluminum waste that would be expensive to properly dispose of, so they turn it around and find a diabolical way of making money on this problem instead of taking loss on it.)

It was also not uncommon for ships to be ridiculously Over-Insured.
