What they actually did was make the first VTOL Jet Aircraft decades before anyone else had even thought of it.

The AW609 is a much more advanced modern interpretation of this vision.

But they still haven't achieved the performance of those confounded flying disks that have been teasing us since the 1930's ... LOL!
