Reader M is confusing eunuchs and homosexuals; they are not the same thing.

Webster defines Eunuch: A male of the human species castrated.

The verse quoted: "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it." (Mat 19:12)

Sometimes men are born without testicles; sometimes they are removed (usually against the man's wishes - as in a slave) in order to remove their desire for women. In this way they would be guard the harem and their masters would be without concern regarding the sanctity of the harem. Some would chose self-castration in order to focus on their faith (celibacy made easy).

Homosexuals are not castrated.

Agreed, the word, "Homosexual," does not occur in the Bible. Neither does the phrase, "Anal sex." This is what the Bible actually says:

'You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.' (Lev 18:22)

'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.' (Lev 20:13)

Too many people are oblivious of what the Scriptures actually say because they don't take the time to read the Bible for themselves. One can prove anything by taking a verse here and a verse there that have no common factor, and link them to prove their pet theory. Very few listeners take the time to actually look up the verses indicated. The verse quoted from the book of Matthew is discussing whether it is better for a religious man to marry or remain single; this is not a discussion regarding homosexuality.

The Bible delineates what one must do to be included in the household of the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. If inclusion does not interest you, that's fine; it's your decision as it is mine.

Unfortunately, too many of us want to impose our beliefs on others. The left is just as guilty as the right. Prejudice is a two-way street and hate is ugly regardless of its point of origin. The attacker always comes out appearing ugly.

If you want to live in a manner that is contrary to society around you, there should be no law infringing that choice - this is what the homosexuals among us scream in our faces.

Why is it that this applies to anyone and everyone... except those who uphold their belief in the Bible?
