The Dark Secret of Love.
Love, of course, is not dark.
The secret of love, however, has been revealed as myriads of dazzling pearls encompassing as many thoughts, emotions and philosophies as there are minds through all ages in contemplation of this wonderful and mysterious jewel of universal fancy and thus is the secret of love veiled in darkness as surely as is the single grain of sand at the heart of that pearl around which all of this fancy is woven as lustrous cloak.
Long halls with tall shelves bent bear millennia of contemplation bound to page, the wonder being that the world does not break under weight of that great tome, that complusive quest for the ever elusive grain of truth which is the nature of love.
Love, in most refined and pure form, is simply the assignment of value. All else is utility and context.
Love is the assignment of value, nothing more, nothing less.
Hate, that inseparable antagonist of love, suffers under the same darkness as love by revelation as myriads of dazzling pearls and long halls with tall shelves bent.
Hate, in most refined and pure fornm, is simply the assignment of no value.
The unborn child hears words, senses emotions and feels physical pain and pleasure. Most mothers are aware of this.
The new born child operates the same until the age when it can begin to command reason and language. Thereafter the child can start to form it's own associations with words and emotions and physical sensations.
Prior to command of associations all words, emotions and physical sensations are recorded indiscriminately as associations by the child from day of conception. These other determined associations can be triggered later in life and cause problems, even huge problems, manifesting from below concious level. These layers of the pearl of false persona can be immensely difficult to find and remedy.
Below is the word love with many of it's uses. Imagine how many constructive -and destructive- associations could be formed from this one word in combination with positive and negative emotions and physical sensations of pain and pleasure and impressed onto a defenseless child, and even forced onto a child not yet in full command of reason and language and associations.
This is one, single word.
We can work at salvaging ourselves and getting on track, but if we make a train wreck of the children we accomplish nothing at all.
We assign value to our children, and we assign values -for- them.
