I tend to agree that if we don't help them, others will. I'd add Islam to that list. They're growing like weeds in European countries.. ..

While I'm no fan (not at all!!) of the UN Peacekeeper forces they do follow a plan that perhaps, we should adopt. One of helping other countries with soldiers from multiple countries... Also multiple countries' money.

I'm not sure if you have read this but in Africa, China is building entire self-contained cities and factories then housing Chinese within those cities. The original deal (with African officials) was that they would hire a lot of Africans.... So far, few Africans have been hired and all of those are at the bottom of the pay scale.. ..

I'm sure Mr. Whitehead has best intentions.

So here is the core question.

There are three proxies of power contending for the planet. The U.S., the Stalinists and the Maoists. All three wade in blood.

So, if the U.S. were to quit policing the planet, then would Mr. Whitehead prefer the Stalinists or the Maoists to do the policing, because one of them certainly will.

There are some esoteric tools that could save the planet but it's just much easier to wish and hope for external salvation to get it's hands bloody so that one doesn't have to shoulder that responsibility.

There is a catch in that if you are saved by the external then you owe everything to that savior. You cannot be your own person and you have to live with the fact that you are owned.

Seems that a lot of people prefer to be property.
