BTW, in my humble opinion, we no longer have a Republic. It was hi-jacked and we are living under a corporation. Sort of a Corporatocracy.

A Republic has been the most established successful form of government. EVER!
Within the Constitution, they originally established the United States as a Republic, not a Democracy. This is because they wanted to form a nation in which the citizens would have unalienable rights. In a true democracy, the majority can over rule the minority under any circumstances, so the minority is left with no opinion, and they have no voice or rights. In a Republic, there is a constitution present that guarantees its citizen's a voice, and grants minorities rights that the majority cannot take away.
