GreenMedInfo's Sayer Ji has a great site and recommend it to all. William Donald Kelley, DDS, the inventor of the pancreatic enzyme treatment for cancer, originally used almonds in the nutritional supplementation aspect of his therapy. Kelley did cure his own inoperable pancreatic cancer and later applied the principles to others seeking his advice.

It worked well enough that the late Nicholas Gonzales, MD, used the same or very similar protocol on Park Avenue, NY to successfully treat pancreatic cancer. His practice has since been continued by Linda L. Isaacs, MD. Kelley gave us his copy of Gonzalez's book of Kelley's best 50 case cancer series, "One Man Alone". Those interested can go to Gonzalez's website and obtain a copy. It may be on Amazon.

Later in life Kelley discontinued the use of almonds, and reported over time that patients following his protocol were suffering some difficulties in getting remissions. Kelley thought it may be the enzymes themselves and there is evidence for that, but the story is long and not necessary here as we are really talking about almonds! Kelley thought it could be a problem of enzyme activation. Kelley took to adding duodenal enterokinase that converts trypsinogen to trypsin (inactive to active form)to his formula to increase effectiveness. Later he purportedly added amylase, but we do not know for certain.

The key, however may have been the discontinued use of almonds. Almonds contain a small amount of nitrilosides, vitamin B-17. Readers may know that apple seeds and apricot pits contain higher levels of this compound. This nitriloside, along with at least two cofactors, chromium and magnesium, seem to be necessary for the conversion of trypsinogen to trypsin by enterokinase.

According to Kelley, this active enzyme(trypsin)was responsible for digesting the cancer. See the works of Embryologist Dr. James Beard, Ph.D. for historical clarity.

Kelley also had elaborate 12 metabolic diets required with his protocol.

But, don't take my word for it, seek a copy of the book mentioned above for some actual proof. You may also find Kelley's book, "One Answer to Cancer" somewhere on the Internet in a .pdf format for free.

Always educate yourself. It may not help you directly, but it may help someone you love.

Eat almonds every day!
