There will be no invasion by the Chinese. The Chinese at the moment are concerned with protecting their territory from US meddling.

Regarding California, something more sinister appears to be at work. Lots of geopolitics stuff. It's going to get worse in 2020.

And if half of California falls into the sea, blame the United States geopolitics. The norm is: If someone has a gun and a shoplifter stole something, the gun carrier is going to shoot down the shoplifter. Maybe at the moment that's the only way to stop the shoplifter. Coming into the late and ending of 2020, the United States economic problems can no longer hide. Lots of big ambitions are going to get deflated because the United States is broke.

And the greedy "Family Offices" hording all the monies from the loot will just sit and wait it out, itching to spread (i.e. invest) their virus and infections (i.e. negative and disruptive management) again. These family offices (i.e. the ruling elites) are very shallow and of low intelligence for they prefer barbarism.

And if China should illegally occupy California for real estate and Texas for oil, it would be the normal thing to do, because the United States have been doing this to other countries for decades. Maybe it's time we Americans get to experience the feelings?
