As was widely reported, actor Paul Walker of "Fast and Furious" fame, and his friend Roger Rodas, died in the fiery crash of Rodas' 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, November 30, 2013.

The particulars of the event lend themselves to conclude that it was nothing more than a horrific accident, likely the result of "drifting" at high speed, a form of sport driving for which the stretch of road where the accident occurred was known.

An accident? Sure, perhaps it was. What bothers me about it, though, is that the car crashed into a concrete lamp post and two trees, and burst quickly into flames.

While that's entirely possible, it makes me think, "Really...?"

One suspects Rodas, the driver on that occasion, had 'drifted' that stretch of road before and, as much as anyone could, knew the road and knew what he was doing.

Is it possible some unknown someone _guided_ the car to meet the lamp post?

I don't know. We may never know. All we might know is that those two men seem to have left us, too soon.
