In Islamic countries, there is no trauma re: male circumcision
Because in part most of these operations are done when a boy is around 8-13 years old and they're given a great big party.
In Turkey when a boy reaches 13 years of age he gets circumcised. Then about two weeks afterwards his family throws a huge party for him, and he receives a lot of gifts [particularly ones in gold]. I've seen at least one party, the kid is dancing around in what looks like a band leader's costume and looks happy as can be.
The operation is painful and in my opinion, unnecessary. However, in Turkey, most of these guys are quite proud of the fact that they're circumcised and will tell you that that's what makes them attractive to foreign women (at least that's what they told me).
So the main difference between the Jewish tradition and the Islamic is the time the operation is done. Babies are not circumcised in Islamic countries (as far as I'm aware).
From my own observations, the Islamic boys (who outnumber the Jews by about a million to one) don't suffer these supposed circumcision related psychological issues.
