Yes, I agree with you and have felt this way for a long time. Just what exactly is the function and purpose of Homeland Security, anyway? They seem to have their noses in a whole lot of things and just like any huge government bureaucracy, I don't think there is much oversight.

Example: Just what was the purpose awhile back of this agency purchasing all those weapons and billions of rounds of ammunition and swat gear, etc., and then arming many other government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture?! I never liked the entire concept and name of this agency, anyway. It sounds like something right out of the old Soviet Union. Since its been proven time and again that any computer system can be hacked, why would anyone trust electronic voting machines? Furthermore, who owns the company that makes these electronic voting machines? Like they say, follow the money. I believe the first head of Homeland Security was a man named Michael Chertoff (sp?) and I think he was the man who pushed for those scanning machines that everyone has to go through at the airports. I think he also had something to do with the company that makes the machines.
