Amen to that! Bearing in mind how uber liberal Illinois is, I consider this a baby step .... :-)

I also wonder if decriminalizing marijuana would cause them to release all those wrongly imprisoned? The prison industry is a huge money maker for states. That could be another reason why this leftist state didn't go that far.

Rather than legalize, I would instead like to hear that a state has decriminalized an activity that they have no business regulating in the first place and no business making laws against. But we only hear about legalization because via the act of legalization the government can both regulate and tax the activity, whereas decriminalization would remove and nullify the law that made the activity illegal and the public would then be free to engage in that activity if they so chose to without any government interference... as a truly free people should be able to do.
