The interesting thing in all of this is the point and this is what the mathematicians miss.

A point, by definition, has no dimension. (Infinitely small is still dimension and so does not qualify as a definition.) Therefore, a point cannot have temporal persistence (ex-is-tense). It is not real. It is just an imaginary reference in regard some other imaginary reference to which we have already granted persistence. And of course there is an original point from which we build all of our little fun and games constructs, but it's not important.

Ultimately everything is made from points and so nothing is real. Points of reference, points of view, of logic, of reason, of location, of reality, of this, that and the other are simply illusions to which we grant persistence or to which we are forced to grant persistence.

Just for fun, mention (mension) is a reference to someone or something, a point. Di-mension would be a reference to two things, a line. Tri-mension, a segmented line or a plane. Quad-mension, a segmented line or a plane or a bounded volume. And so forth. If you grant different temporal persistence to each thing then you could park all of the cars on the planet in a single one car garage, so to speak. One could have a lot of fun with this stuff.

The problem is that we are being forced to grant persistence to things which are not entirely in line with life, liberty and pursuit of happiness of the individual. Our individual author-ship or authority has been shanghaied.
