Here is a good take on the trade war:

The American citizen has been encouraged by the MSM to blame China for much of the American problems with loss of jobs and trade deficits. However, the problem went back some 50 years when American car manufacturers decided to make big profits on large cars and ALLOWED the Japanese to take over the small car market without a fight. In the electronics field, large American corporations like RCA and Sylvania decided it was more profitable to get government contracts for military electronics than to make radios and players for civilians. They ALLOWED the Japanese corporations to take over the electronics industry without a fight.

Some thirty years ago, the US corporations decided it was cheaper to make goods in Mexico and moved many factories to Mexico. Then it was found out that China has even cheaper labor and these factories then moved to China.

All these events led to the present desperate situations of the American worker and the shrinking middle class. The people responsible, the corporate CEOs and the 1%, want to take the heat off themselves and shift the blame to China. Yet the arguments against China often is contrived.

Any objective observer will notice that the US side makes the least sense. Here's just a few of the MANY contradictions and lies from the American side. The US says that China is not playing fair by subsidizing many industries. Yet, the US itself subsidizes US agriculture tremendously, not to mention auto and solar. The US economic philosophy is that the more the state subsidizes industry, the more the industry falls behind in competition while the state goes bankrupt. Thus, the US should encourage China to subsidize more until China goes bankrupt. Right????? The US accuses China of stealing to the tune of $1 billion every day, yet can come up with just a few cases of thief over the last 10 years (at most a few million dollars over a decade!). The US accuses Chinese companies of spying for Beijing but cannot even prove one case after targeting Huawei since 2009 (that was the year that NSA secretly penetrated Huawei). The US accuses Huawei of stealing industry secrets (no evidence) but the US was proven to have stolen source codes from Huawei and industry and research secrets from companies, universities and research institutes from around the world. The US says that China must follow the rule of law, but bans Huawei from the US without any evidence f wrong doing. The US says that China manipulates its currency but the US is by far the BIGGEST currency manipulator on the planet.The fed prints billions in $100 bills for pennies each and ships these bills overseas. The US says that China forces companies to transfer their technology to Chinese companies but the US team cannot cite the law that allows China to do that (there is NO such law in China!). In realty US companies voluntary share their IP, usually as a sign of trust (most of these technology is low to medium tech and not a big deal). The US implies that Chinese tariffs are 10 times the US tariffs, using the example of automobiles. Yet, the average US tariffs (before the trade war) was 3.5 % and the average Chinese tariff was around 8% (which is very reasonable for a relatively poor country). For example, the Chinese tariff on soy beans is 3.5% and on fruits and nuts is 10%. The US is sending its people around the world warning them not to use Chinese telecommunications equipment when it is US equipment that is suspected of having backdoors to the NSA! The US accuses China of not buying enough from the US but when China wants to buy high tech equipment, the US will refuse (there is a high tech embargo on China for the last 30 years). I can go on and on and on.

To summarize, the US corporations, in the name of profit, have decimated the American worker. To take the blame off themselves, they worked with the MSM to place the blame on China, a foreign nation with a people that look different and think different from the average American. The people are riled up to very angry levels about China, but somehow the American people meekly accept corporate greed, and the unaccountable actions from the hidden government (CIA, NSA, etc) which have cost the nation dearly in funds and human lives. Yet, the American people are eager to throw insults at the Chinese for living without democracy and patting themselves on the back for being a "free" people. In reality, the Chinese people want peace and their government gave them peace. The American people want peace but the US government gave them war after war to the point of bankruptcy. So which people, China's or the US's, actually are more free to decide their fate???
