Carbon is one of the most common elements on Earth, and it is certainly one of the single most important atoms for sustaining life. ALL life as we know it. Carbon was first studied millennia ago by the ancient Mesopotamian civilizations. Despite its long history of study, it continues to surprise and intrigue chemists, biologists, and physicists alike with new and incredible phenomena. Carbon is one of the fundamental building blocks of everything around us, and as such it is the basis for all life on earth.

.Carbon was one of the first elements to be isolated. Though they were not aware of its makeup at the time, the ancient Romans dubbed it "carbo," Latin for "coal," when they noticed it sticking to the insides of fire pits and chimneys as soot. It was not until 2 thousand or so years later, near the dawn of the 20th century, that scientists understood that the molecules of all basic elements were actually made from smaller particles than atoms.

These particles today are known as protons, neutrons and electrons, the enumeration of which for each element became known of the table of elements, or “atomic weight”.

Carbon 12, makes up the vast majority of all carbon on earth, and in particular is second only to oxygen in quantity in the makeup of the human body. The oxygen in the body is primarily in the form of water, which in the human body ranges from 50-75%. Of the total weight. The average adult human body is 50-65% water. Other than carbon and water, the human body contains only a few percent of other elements.

Hence, our body is primarily water and carbon. Now, water is a molecular compound of two elements, namely the gasses hydrogen and oxygen, whereas carbon is a fundamental element. This is important to what follows, because in a spiritual sense water can also represent the change in character of two invisible gasses into a visible, tangible state which is indeed quite necessary for the survival of all known physical life.

If we can see the usefulness of the chemical transformation of invisible and insipid gasses, we can certainly recognize immediately the application of invisible things into it’s significance in terms of Baptism, where indeed, we are Spiritually made a new creature in Christ.

Today, we know that the element atom of Carbon consists of six protons, six neutrons and six electrons. Hence 6-6-6 is indeed “the number’ of man. It is amazing to me, and proof enough that John the revelator was divinely inspired in his writings. For, as mentioned above, the molecular construction of atoms was not known to mankind until nearly 1900 years later. It may also be significant that man was created indeed on the sixth day of creation.

John wrote in Rev. chapter 13:18

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (KJV)

One important thing to ascertain from this is that the ’number of the beast’ is the SAME as the number of man. IOW.. This ’many headed’ beast (gr.therion) is ALSO man. Thus the strange physical appearance of the beast is likely a spiritual picture of the culmination of man’s inhumanity and desire to rule over others.

Today we see the drive toward a “one world everything”. Economic, Societal, Political and most importantly, SPIRITUAL control over the whole world.

In thinking on this, one should realize that indeed, this ’beast’ has already died once in modern times, and has been resurrected, having his 'head' wound healed.

Look at history. You will see that following WW1, the so-called ’war to end all wars’ a world body was established called the “League of Nations”. This league did not consist of all nations, but only the Well what happened? Within 20 years, the world entered WW2, and after that, the world realized that the “league” was not going to cut it… So, it was set up with a new “Head”, supposedly all the nations of the earth. We call it the United Nations. Since all nations are members, it is indeed impossible for any to war against it, else they would be warring with themselves, an unlikely impossibility. “Peace in our time” is the cry. With the UN, we have PEACE AND SAFETY.

Summary

WE-- ALL OF MANKIND--ARE THE BEAST Of Revelation 13. And, as written, complete control has been given to the beast. It will trample all economic, societal , political and SPIRITUAL laws. It will never rest until Christ calls a stop to it. So long as a person is in the flesh, he is STILL marked with that number of Carbon 12, ie. 666. It is indelible within living man, BUT the good news is that it can be overcome... with Christ.

Because, and since the body is more than half water..( in a sense, spiritual), God has given us the makeup which will allow us to overcome. Let us recognize it and use it well…

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
