My first husband, Dr. John N. Dyer, Dean of Science and Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California died of heart failure in December of 1988.

Up to the moment he died, he had no heart problems. Cause of death was ruled, "congenital heart failure".

John was NOT directly involved in Star Wars research, he WAS involved in securing FUNDS for the scientists at the Naval Postgraduate School who WERE involved in Star Wars research.

John was familiar with the Star Wars research that was going on at NPS because John was a research scientist first and an "administrator" second. John was a member of Dr. Luis Alverez's Nobel Prize winning team at Berkeley. He also is the man who built the Linear Accellerator at NPS. He was first and foremost a scientist who understood the research for which he went to Washington to secure funding!

After his death, three people approached me and told me he was murdered. At the time, I dismissed it as gossip and RUMOR! After everything I have been through since his death and my subsequent marriage to a Naval officer I met at the Naval Postgraduate School, I now wonder if the three people who told me he was murdered knew what they were talking about.
