In America this winter, costs for natural gas in that recently deregulated industry have been considerably higher. In California, there have been electrical shortages (and I'd expect, higher prices).

We're being prepared (by news headlines) to expect higher costs this summer, for electricity, for natural gas, for gasoline. And we're being told "the infrastructure" needs major improvements (perhaps including new nuclear power plants).

BUT - if electricity, and gasoline, and natural gas prices are rising, isn't that the very same thing as saying, "The buying power of the US dollar is rapidly dropping"? Are these "rising prices" happening, so we won't notice that the dropping of the dollar is _really_ what's happening?

In America, more "complaint" than usual is being publicized, about the income tax and the IRS - there's no open admission that the system is anything other than necessary, and honorable - but the discontent of the "taxpayers" is being allowed into the public consciousness. At the same time, we're hearing that the poor, noble, under-funded IRS is losing money - the darned taxpayers have stopped "paying their fair share" in greater numbers than ever before, and IRS doesn't have the manpower to go after all of them. What to do, what to do...?

Oh wait - how about that NESARA thingee? The National Economic Stabilization and Recovery Act - could that hold a (Hegelian) solution for us? :) NESARA would bring new money, new banking, etc. - and deep back-channel rumors are saying similar ideas are being considered in other countries, not just in America - and of course if America undertook such a sweeping change, other countries might need to follow suit....

Perhaps, if things get tough enough in America, the citizens will urge the Congress to find a way to fix the problem....
