The TV account I listened to said the shooter was at the
SW gate. I remember because that's the only one I've
ever entered, and that was the only time I've been in
to WH offices. I met Carter's chief of staff Jack Watson in
the underground west wing offices, and saw campaign
manager Hamilton Jordan and VP Mondale walk by
after they came out of an elevator.

SW gate has a guard house about 10 x 15 feet in size

and several Secret Service guards. This is not on the
Penn Ave side, which is north, across from Lafayette
Square, but the security issue reaches that far.

There are video cameras around the gates, for sure.
The Clinton vandals would not have been able to
cut cables to all the places where cameras are
monitored.

You are right about accounts differing when anything
like this happens. I copied everything I could on the
JFK-JR plane downing, and conspiracy was arguable
based on differences and what was said and how it
was distorted or left out other times and all sorts of
things. Basically the details were more lies than not,
and more anonymous experts than authentic sources,
and the anonymous experts lied extensively. Government
manipulations were evident.

So, it's essential to record everything for later analysis.
Actually it's fun to analyze in real time. I can't believe
anybody would blame you for making a record of
news accounts and passing it along.

None of the incidents of attacking the White House
could be an assassination attempt. The most serious
was the plane crash, and the plane wasn't even carrying
explosives. The AK-47 shooter wasn't killing people
like the CIA entrance Pakistani shooter or the Capitol
shooter. I think one guy who climbed the WH fence had
a knife. That probably wasn't a national news story.
