: Is this the patent for Kamen's "IT" invention?

Yes and No. "IT" uses a different method of propulsion, however the outside physical characteristics will be similar to what is shown in that patent. Perhaps the "pro" model will have four wheels for great stability and comfort.

The "motor" inside this is the big secret. Some people have stated it is a stirling design, others have said it is based on a hamilton design. Stirling is fuel burning design with a more efficient combustion cycle, Hamilton is based on magnetic repulsion. My vote goes for the Hamilton design.

I feel the "IT" that Jobs and Bezos were shown was just a demo of the technology and not the end user product. Mostly likely they saw scaled down versions running around on a table top "race track" of sorts.

Those that are to actually see the end user product are probably taken to a hidden remote site which has the "required" guide rails installed.
