In regard to the following statement you made at the end of this:

I have often thought this same thing. I have felt that most of us are innocent bystanders who are watching a "War of the Titans" type movie. I have often wondered if there might be a way that we can just "opt out" of the drama. Sort of like getting up in the middle of a boring movie and walking out.

I wonder how we can do this and not end up as slaves? We have to assert our strength and our individuality. We have to maintain sovereignty over our bodies, lives and souls, and yet we need to leave the theater and let those who are battling fight amoung themselves.

I just haven't figured out how to do this. Remember that old saying, "What if they gave a war and no one came?" This is fine as long as the war isn't bombing you. When you and your family start getting killed, tortured and raped, then it gets up close and personal. How do you leave "the theater" when death and destruction is all around you?

While I believe that the war that is being fought has nothing to do with "the little people" -- it is the "little people" who do the fighting and dying. Maybe we need to return to the times in which the Kings fought the wars themselves.

Maybe our president needs to wrestle the president of China. In this case, I think we need to elect Jesse Ventura.

I really think you have hit the nail on the head, hobie -- I hope other people might be able to take this stream of consciousness and find the melding point between walking a high spiritual path and living on these people's battle-field -- "Battlefield Earth"!!
