MORE TUNNEL DEATHS -- 170 KILLED IN AUSTRIAN TUNNEL

Yesterday an unbelievable tragedy took place in Austria. A train carrying 170 people was in a fire in a tunnel. Most of the passengers were children -- snow borders. They were all killed. The tunnel was near Salzburg.

Salzburg is one of the headquarters of Faction Two -- the opposition to the New World Order. Faction Two was started by the Knights Templars. The Knights Templars were created near Mount Blanc -- a similar fire took place in the Mt. Blanc Tunnel.

"Last year, around 40 people died in an inferno in the Mont Blanc road tunnel between France and Italy that started when a truck caught fire and in Austria, 12 people were killed in a fire in the Tauern road tunnel under the Alps."

Fire is the way the New World Order gets rid of their enemies. It is the belief of Rumor Mill News that the Mt. Blanc fire and the Salzburg fire were messages from the NWO to Faction Two -- specifically the Knights Templar part of Faction Two.

In light of the Salzburg train tragedy, I find an interesting use of words in the the following article about Austria: "Under fire: Schuessel is accused of denying responsibility..." If I were Austrian Polizei, I would suspect more attacks using fire as the weapon.

At Least 150 Skiers Die in Alpine Train Inferno

KAPRUN, Austria (Reuters) - At least 150 people were killed on Saturday when an Austrian funicular train packed with skiers was trapped in a tunnel and destroyed by a fire so fierce it left almost nothing behind but twisted metal.

The government declared a state of national mourning after what was believed to be the worst disaster ever in a country which has seen more than its fair share of fatal avalanches and mountain tragedies.

``There are at least 150 dead, certainly primarily young people, who perhaps decided early today on the spur of the moment to do some winter sports,'' Salzburg provincial governor Franz Schausberger told Germany's NTV television.

There was confusion over the death toll.

The single-carriage train could carry up to 180 people and was believed to have been full. Schausberger said earlier only eight people were thought to have survived the terrifying blaze deep inside the 3,200-yard Kitzsteinhorn mountain near Kaprun, southwest of the city of Salzburg, implying as many as 172 dead.

But a hospital in nearby Zell am See said it had treated 18 survivors who had apparently escaped the inferno, three of whom had already been discharged. Fourteen of the 18 survivors were Germans and the rest Austrians.

There was no firm news on the nationality of the dead, who had come to the popular Kaprun area to take advantage of beautiful autumn weather and what were described as perfect conditions for skiing.

ORF television said the passengers were thought to include Austrians, Germans and Britons. Germany's NTV television said 23 Americans were missing from the German city of Wuerzburg near the Austrian border and were feared to be among the victims.

``I did not realize the full extent of the catastrophe until two railway workers came directly from the tunnel and told us all they had found was the metal base of the train,'' Schausberger told Austria's ORF radio.

``Everything else was burned out. We had to deduce the sad news that probably none of the passengers survived.''

A local Red Cross official, Gerhard Huber, said police were setting up checkpoints so they could establish the identity of people leaving the area in order to work out who was missing.

``Now it is just a question of recovering and identifying the bodies,'' he said.

Media reports said the fire was believed to have started at the lower end of the single-carriage train at a round 9 o'clock soon after it began its ascent up the 45-degree incline.

Those who escaped were at the bottom end of the vehicle. They managed to break windows and free themselves.

But the remaining passengers are likely to have been quickly engulfed by fire or overcome by deadly smoke as the blaze raced upwards.

``The fire was drawn upwards as in a chimney,'' a spokesman for the Salzburg state government told Reuters in Kaprun.

Eyewitness Christian Wakolbinger said the smoke had even affected people in the mountain station at the top of the 2.5-mile-long railway, according to ORF's Web site.

``The smoke swept up the tunnel so quickly that some people in the Alpine Center were affected by smoke poisoning,'' he said. The mountain-top victims of smoke inhalation were flown out by helicopter for medical treatment, he added.

Cause A Mystery

Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel expressed his shock and horror at the news. ``This is a moment for mourning,'' he said. ``We have ordered all federal buildings to fly flags of mourning.''

Experts were puzzled by the cause of the fire as the train, which is drawn up the mountain by a cable powered by engines at the top, did not have an engine or on-board power source.

It was also furnished with materials that were supposed to be fire-proof.

The Kitzsteinhorn railway, built in 1974, was initially described as the world's first underground mountain railway because almost all of it went through the mountain.

It is some four km (two miles) long, rising from the valley which is 900 yards above sea-level to the mountain station at 2,400 yards. The normal journey time is around nine minutes.

Schausberger said it was unsafe for rescue workers to try to approach the burned-out wreck from below as there was a danger the cable supporting the train could snap, sending the vehicle crashing down the track.

Last year, around 40 people died in an inferno in the Mont Blanc road tunnel between France and Italy that started when a truck caught fire and in Austria, 12 people were killed in a fire in the Tauern road tunnel under the Alps.

In June, at least 64 people were injured when two trains collided near Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze.

Governor: About 170 People Dead in Austrian Train Fire

VIENNA, Austria (AP) - A train transporting skiers to an Austrian Alpine resort caught fire deep inside a mountain tunnel Saturday, trapping passengers inside and killing about 170 people, the provincial governor said.
Salzburg Gov. Franz Schausberger told reporters in Salzburg that only eight people managed to save themselves from the burning car, which apparently held about 180 people. State radio said the survivors managed to push out a rear window of the flaming compartment.

The train, pulled by cable through a tunnel for most of the more than 3,200 yards up the Kitzsteinhorn mountain to the ski slopes, was reportedly stopped around 600 yards inside the tunnel. Rescuers were unable to reach the train compartment where fire broke out at about 9:30 a.m.

State television said without attribution that the massive steel cable pulling the cars up the slope apparently snapped before the fire broke out.

The blaze was still burning more than three hours after it began, sending smoke spewing out from the bottom of the tunnel, said Norbert Karlsboeck, the mayor of Kaproun, the town at the base of the track. The area is located about 50 miles south of Vienna in the heart of the Austrian Alps.

A massive rescue operation was mounted with some 13 helicopters, teams of police, doctors and Red Cross workers all at the site, the mayor said. Helicopters also were making their way from neighboring Bavaria, in southern Germany, carrying firefighters with special equipment.

"We do not know anything about the reason for the fire, only that it broke out on the train," Karlsboeck said.

The resort is a popular summer and early winter skiing area. Built in 1974, the cable railway was first the first of its kind to burrow through a mountainside. Experts interviewed on television said it was supposed to be fireproof.

Police were calling on motorists to keep away from the area so as not to hinder rescue attempts. Schausberger declared a day of mourning for Salzburg province, and Austrian President Thomas Klestil expressed condolences to relatives.
