It seems I was mistaken when I stated that I thought Hannibal was simply misinformation, rather than a deep-seated animus towards Jews, that motivated Hannibal's earir post (regarding Kol Nidre). He now shows himself to be as viciously anti-Semitic, in his own was, as Ms. Janus or Mr. Seely. If I believed in the concept of "hate speech" (which I don't), I would say that some of Hannibal's writing above certainly qualifies. So remember, O elephant rider, he who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones.

A week or so ago there was an article here about a Jewish patriot at the time of the American Revolution who sold his house and goods to provide support for George Washington's army after their disastrous stay at Valley Forge. (I looked for the article today and couldn't find it. What was his name, Hiram something?) At any rate, the point is that without this Jewish support, the Revolution would have been lost. I assure you that this once-wealthy merchant did not sacrifice all his posessions to establish yet another Christian nation. He did it because he took seriously the promise that the new nation that would result, the United States, would be a land where all would be truly equal, regardless of their faith. Those who think that Jews are not real "Americans" need to reflect on that; without this particular, Jew, there would be no America. It must, and will, be ensured that his sacrifice was not in vain.
