I think the pictures are faked. Pretty good, too, where the rings go through the clouds in the topmost image.

Top one made using maybe a 3-d program or plug-in filter/program of some sort. Bottom picture looks like some lines with 'drop-shadow' applied. Maybe both've been done in something like Bryce that allows import of gps contour maps/data or something. I think my terminology is not what it should be.

There is no way these are actual unretouched photographs.

Have you folks never messed around with scanned/imported images in whatever graphics programs you can get to run on your machines? Select an area, fill or draw within only that area, apply effects. It's not that difficult. Date and time headers can be cut and pasted. You could even put some UFO-like anomalies up there for giggles.

Be skeptical, Be very skeptical.
