the Middle East is the most dangerous region in the world to have war in terms of geography (ie location near to Pakistan's "Islamic Bomb" and Afghanistan - the center of Osama bin Laden's GLOBAL terrorism); religion and its concommitant zealotry (ie the claustrophobia of Judaism: Islam and Christianity in Jerusalem and directed Millennium prophecy (ie the worst threat being, IMO, a 'Revelation's omega' with a nuclear device - the suicide bomber canditates having been released.) let's face it - the peace process has been underrepresented in goal and investment since World War II. peace has been either a stasis of nonwar or something that has been kept. peacebuilding, in fits and starts, may be the future to a LASTING peace as it addresses global issues in the peace process and, to paraphrase JFK, - 'ask not what your world can do for you; ask what you can do for you world'. IMO a resumption of the peace talks should consider Jimmy Carter's critique of a lack of neutrality on Clinton's part and global issues such as climate; infectious disease and harm reduction. globalization has replaced the Cold War and the Middle East crisis plays within the backdrop of globalization. as of now globalization is defined only terms of unregulated global economies but globalization needs to find a relationship with the common citizen and, IMO, peacebuilding is one way to do it.
