Interesting reading but flawed analysis. Your point is well taken that all out war is where things are headed. However, the how an why of it is being obsfucated.

Israel was unprepared for the Yom Kippur War largely due to the fact that US et al (Kissybutt Kissinger in particular) kept them offguard by assuring and reassuring them that nothing was out of the ordinary with Egypt and Syria conducting wargames and large scale manuevers to their South and North respectively.

The Arabs inflicted heavy casualties early on against a flatfooted IDF. We know the rest of the story and the only concessions were again at Israel's expense after having been attack for the 4th time.

The Israelis almost exercised the Samson option by nuking not only their neighbors, but Moscow to the North!

Bombing the Liberty was merely one sovereign nation exercising its rights during wartime. No serious student of history would beleive that the Liberty was up to anything but malfeasance, and the IDF had the proof.

One of the miraculous survivors of the Golani Brigade that was overrun by the Syrians in 73' has the horrible images of his fellow soldiers dead with their genitals removed and stuffed in their mouths.
