Bilderberg Fears Popularity of Populism

European nations and the plutocractic elite are being forced to take extreme measures in order to quash the growing popularity of nationalism and populism in Europe.
EXCLUSIVE TO THE SPOTLIGHT
By James P. Tucker Jr.
Recent events demonstrate that Bilderberg was correct in wringing its collective hands over the "right wing" during its meeting near Brussels, Belgium, last June-the rise of what they contemptously call "populist nativism" is greater than they feared.
Reform Party nominee Pat Buchanan now has $12.6 million in campaign cash and will spend the next month giving the nation a badly needed civics lesson.
The establishment has probably succeeded in gagging Buchanan in the presidential debates, but the message Buchanan will take to the airwaves is not what Bilderberg wants Americans to hear.
Neither George W. Bush nor Al Gore will discuss America's drop-by-drop loss of sovereignty as the United Nations evolves into a world government. Both major party candidates support world government but agree that it must be obtained by stealth.
The rise of the right in Europe, with its traditional jealousy of sovereignty, is troubling the Bilderberg-Trilateral clique
Fewer than half of adult Americans read even one newspaper today and the mainstream media keeps such issues covered up. Millions of Americans will learn for the first time, when Buchanan goes over the heads of the mainstream media via a purchase of air time, that their country is in danger.
Such an education of the populace terrifies Bilderberg, which, for half a century, has operated in strictest secrecy.
Buchanan will speak on other issues Bilderberg wants ignored: getting the United States out of the United Nations, ending foreign aid, bringing American troops home from far flung missions and deploying them to guard the border with Mexico and imposing 10th amendment restrictions on the federal government.
The rise of the right in Europe, with its traditional stress in sovereignty, is troubling the Bilderberg-Trilateral clique.
Its operatives in the European Union were forced to end economic sanctions imposed on Austria because Bilderberg objected to a free election that resulted in the "far-right" Freedom Party participating in the government. Bilderberg was so upset with Joerg Haider's success it moved its planned meeting from Innsbruck, Austria, to less accomodating quarters near Brussels.
The EU was forced to act when support in Denmark for joining in the single European currency, the euro, was found to be dropping because of the interference in the domestic affairs of Austria. Denmark votes on whether to accept the euro on Sept. 28.
Anti-euro forces there cited the sanctions on Austria as an example of bully-ing to be expected from the EU. Many of these Danes, who turned against the euro, have no love for Haider or his party but feared loss of their own sovereignty because of what the superstate could do to Austria.
Germany is banning patriotic organizations that grow uncomfortably popular.
Under the German constitution dictated by victorious allies after World War II, people languish in prisons or flee the country if their writings or speeches offend the government and political organizations can be disbanded.
So the German government announced on Sept. 14 that it was outlawing the "far-right" group known as "Blood and Honor", which originated in Britain and expanded to Germany in recent years.
The government also said it was considering banning other "far-right'" organizations.
Police searched at least 30 sites linked to the group, confiscating bank books listing deposits "in five figures" and at least one computer, said Interior Minister Otto Schily.
"Germany is the first nation to fight this organization in this way," Schily said.
For years, Bilderberg has been writing over the popularity of Jean-Marie Le Pen, a French nationalist, only to see his France-first philosophy gain more acceptance, as demonstrated Sept. 15 when the mayor of Vitrolles showed up for her trial on "racism" charges dressed as Joan of Arc.
Catherine Megret, long identified as "right-wing" and "nationalist", wore the clothing to protest charges placed against her for offering $700 bonuses to French women when they had babies in her town.
The prosecutor said Mrs. Meget's action effectively excluded the town's large African population, provoking racism and violence.
Her husband, Bruno, leads the "right-wing" National Republican Movement, which wants to expel many foreigners from France.
He came to the trial at the head of several hundred supporters but was thrown out of the court room fro protesting "the dictatorship of judges."
Mrs. Megret, a member of her husband's party, said the trial was a scandal because she was being punished for "encouraging French families to grow."
