They are referring to ancient clay tablets found in the Syria, Iraq are know as the Sumerian clay tablets which make up the Sumerian Epic of Creation. Most of the tablets are now in the Berlin Museum. Author Zechariah Stitchin has researched the tablets and written a series of books about them called the Earth Chronicles. Genesis Revisited: The 12th Planet(referred to by this forum as planet X) Wars Between Gods and Men, etc.
Rael is sometimes referred to in ancient literature as Raguel in the Book of Enoch, as Thelesis in Gnosticism. Raguel was reprobabted in 745 A.D. by the Roman church(along with some other high-level angels, including Uriel. In the bible he is one of the few angels mentioned as Raphael, meaning "God has healed'" or the "shining one who heals." He appears in the book of Tobit where he travels with with Tobit's son in disguise until the journey's end. He is "one of the four presences set over all the disease and all the wounds of the children of men." (Enoch) Raphael is, along with Gabriel and Michael, on of the three angels who visited Abraham.
According to the ancient Persian relgion of Zoroastrianism, Rashnu is the angel who stands at the bridge to heaven and judges the worth of arriving souls,(St. Peter).
The Cabala reports Raziel as the Cochma, the second of the ten holy sefiroth, and sometimes Rahab is referred to as an angel of the sea (Baba Batra 74B.
In the Sumerian Epic of Creation, he is seemingly referred to as Enki or Lord of the waters.
