Now that the U.S. has decided to release 30 million barrels of oil from our reserves to temporarily reduce prices, Europe wants to follow suit. OPEC nations have stated that if this happens, they will cut production to keep the prices where they are, suggesting that we lower our taxes instead.

I'm all for lower taxes, but there's a better way yet that's not being talked about (could be because most of the public has no clue).

Seems to me I read somewhere that the U.S. signed an agreement with OPEC stating that we would shut down production of our oil supplies on the North Shore in exchange for stable prices for our imports of OPEC oil. And, our own supplies would be enough to last us a few hundred years. That should be plenty of time to allow us to develope other renewable energy sources.

Do we need a revolution to get the government to do the right thing for its citizens? Lets open our pipelines, and cut the taxes. And while we're at it, tell OPEC thanks, but we'll use our own.
