I was doing a search of Lexington, Kentucky media sites for information about the Les Coleman trial (Onelist mailing did not contain anything beyond mail and advert blurb framework) and came upon this story about a Lexington woman and another woman killed in Costa Rica whilst on a "photography project."

Did the project involve investigation, or were they just interested in taking pictures of pretty things in a foreign country? Did they snap some pix in an area that made someone nervous? Were they killed elsewhere and dumped? Etc. All the usual questions.

Lexington woman one of two Costa Rica murder victims. A college student from Lexington on a photography project and a friend who was visiting her have been found shot death near a Caribbean beach town in Costa Rica.

The bodies of Emily Howell of Lexington and Emily Eagen of Ann Arbor, Michigan were found Monday along a highway near the town of Cahuita, 90 miles east of San Jose. Both were 19.

Officials said one had been shot twice in the head and the other three times in the back, and that one was nude and the other partially nude. Credit cards, clothing and other belongings were found near the bodies. A sport utility vehicle that had been used by the women was found burned Monday on a major highway just outside San Jose. There have been no arrests and no word of any suspects.
