I have stayed away from this forum for several weeks now. I decided to check it again today because I saw Rayelan's article about the Les Coleman trial reposted on J. Orlin Grabbe's website. I hoped I'd be able to focus on that, but I see Jana Janus is still spewing her vicious anti-Jewish bile, and I just can't let it go unchallenged. It makes my blood boil, but I am making an effort to respond calmly and logically.

Jana, what makes you think the Catholic Church of the middle ages needed an excuse for what they did to the Jews? The fact is, they treated anyone who didn't conform to their beliefs with the same barbarity. Have you heard of the Cathars? This sect, an offshoot of Christianity to which most of the people of southern France belonged, was wiped out in what was known as the Albigensian Crusade. It was an act of genocide which was every bit as horrible in its day as the Nazi holocaust of the 20th century. Proportionally, a greater portion of the population of France was wiped out in the Albigensian Crusade than the portion of the populations of Germany and/or Poland that was wiped out by Hitler. And this was perpetrated by a Pope named "Īnnocent"!

The Cathars didn't study the Talmud, so tell me, why were they so hated? The fact is, the Talmud doesn't contain the things you claim it does. There are no references to Jesus in the Talmud at all (with the possible exception of an obscure reference to an individual named Yeshu ben Pandera, who some believe was a real-life model for parts of the Jesus story, even though he lived about 100 BC).

You were challenged a few weks ago to produce actual copies of the pages from the translation of the Talmud that supposedly contain the hateful things you quote. As far as I know, you have not done so. If you truly have such pages, scan them in and e-mail the images to me. Or e-mail me privately and I may send you my postal address where you can send actual photocopies of the pages in question - if you really have them (which I am confident you do not).
