Scientists have designed an antibody that attacks 99 percent of the types of HIV viruses and can prevent infection in mammals.

The antibody is designed to attack three critical parts of the virus, making it more difficult for the HIV virus to resist its effects.

The research was carried out in cooperation with the US National Institute of Health and the pharmaceutical company Sanofi. Tests on humans will begin next year to see if the antidote can prevent or cure the infection, the BBC reported.

The human body is forced to fight HIV virus because of the incredible ability of this virus to mutate and change.

Three types of HIV, or three types, in one patient can be compared to those in the influenza, so the immune system fights with a huge number of forms.

However, after many years of infection, a small number of patients develop a powerful weapon called "broad antibody neutralizing", which attacks the virus base and can destroy a large proportion of HIV.

Scientists are trying to use these antibodies as a way of treating HIV or preventing the infection itself.

The study, published in the journal Science, combines three such antibodies into a powerful "antibody of the triple effect".

In experiments carried out on 24 monkeys it was found that no animal given to the antibody developed an infection in the later injection of HIV.
