Allegedly, the incident involved illegal immigrants from Syria.
Cargo ship "Blue Sky M" which sailed to Rijeka (Croatia - added by this author) under the flag of Moldova, sent a distress call. On the ship there are armed men, reports Greek media.
Distress call was sent on Tuesday while the ship was located off the coast of Corfu.
Some media reports that on board are between 400 and 600 people, while others speak of a greater figure, 700 of them who are, allegedly, illegal immigrants from Syria.
Distressed ship's name is #BlueSkyM. It has been reported of carrying 100s of Syrian migrants.
Greek authorities ship in aid sent military helicopter, a frigate and a coast guard ship.
