This Gizmodo article is FAKE NEWS!

The frequency 1.32 MHz = 1320 kHz is licensed world wide, by the FCC in the USA, in the commercial AM Radio Broadcasting Service!

Any power-transmission application would cause unacceptable interference to licensed radio stations, locally in daytime, and thousands of miles via skywave "skip" signals at night.

Go out to your car and dial up 1320 AM - what do you hear?
A radio station... somewhere.
