consider this: if the earth is "flat", it has to be roughly shaped like a pancake; in other words, it has a thickness of at least a few hundred miles, plus a diameter of about 8000 miles and a circumference of about 25000. if it were shaped like that, because of gravity's force, the only place on the flat surface of the earth that gravity would not cause you to be leaning in order to be in balance would be at the exact center of the pancake. at or near the edge, you would be "leaning" several degrees, 10 or much more as a guess, in order to be in balance. it would feel the same as walking uphill if you are moving away from the center, and downhill if walking toward the center.

in addition, i have flown as captain or co-pilot on many different flights over 40 years over every continent except africa and every ocean except the indian, and never seen anything to suggest that the earth is anything but round. if it were flat, it would have to have edges and another side. it doesn't.

people talk or write about openings at the poles or a hollow center, but i have never seen any evidence produced by people who claim to have been at the edge or other side of a flat earth, nor have i heard or read about anyone even claiming to have been to the edge or other side of a flat earth.

only a round earth rotating every 24 hours and going around the sun every 365 days, combined with a 23 1/2 degree tilt of its axis of rotation allows for a simple, logical explanation of day/night and seasonal cycles that are repetitive over and over without fail.

personally, i do not care what the truth is. what i speak out against are theories that ignore common sense deductions that cannot be ignored in reaching a reasonable conclusion as to what the truth is.
