Dear Friends,



We, The World is a Co-Host of this extraordinary event with the Compassion Games and many other groups. (See the Coalition Map below) The Inaugural Global Wopida Run is being presented as part of Interfaith Harmony Week, It is being led by Great Sioux Nation Youth Runners, across the Golden Gate Bridge carrying a Compassion Torch of solidarity and hope from Standing Rock to the Great Meadow at Fort Mason, San Francisco on Sunday, February 5th at 12:00 PM.



The Dakota people have a special ceremony, Wopida, which is a sacred sharing of gratitude, connecting with all beings through giving thanks for the countless gifts and blessings in our lives. This often includes sharing food and giving gifts. The spiritual understanding of Wopida is for each of us to live with honor, compassion, love, respect and harmony with all life, and to protect and restore Mother Earth.
