The first reports of this came in July of this year but Major Euro Newspapers are releasing it a second time.

SCIENTISTS have discovered a mysterious new icy planet traveling though the solar system that has never been seen before.

Dubbed L91, the frozen rock takes a shocking 20,000 Earth years to orbit the sun just once.

The planet is located at the far edge of our solar system – beyond even Pluto.

“It’s right at the limit of what we can detect,” said astrophysicist Michele Bannister of Queen’s University Belfast, according to Science Magazine.

The find was made by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope at Mauna Kea in Hawaii, as part of the Outer Solar System Origins Survey.

And the strange shape of its orbit has astronomers scratching their heads.

L91 is thought to be gradually shifting its way inward from the Oort cloud — a collection of comets and other icy bodies — into the nearby Kuiper belt.

No object has ever been seen doing this.

L91 is more than 50 times further away from the sun than Earth – at its closest point

Konstantin Batygin and Mike Brown claim the existence of an as-yet undiscovered world the size of Neptune would explain the elongated orbits of half a dozen objects in the solar system.

Not everyone is convinced of the theory, but the pair remain undeterred.

But they know that they won’t be able to silence their detractors until “Planet X” itself can be found with a super-telescope.
