Detective Accidentally Shoots, Kills 20 Yr. Sheriff's Deputy in Sheriff's Office - Tragic Report - Comment

You may recall this Infoeditor's former post on how a detective shot to death a JFK Assassination researcher reporter in a California police station. Unfortunately this kind of thing has reportedly happened again. In the former shooting during the times of Dorothy Kilgallen the officers were allegedly showing off a quick draw. In this latest situation the officers were discussing how to carry their back-up weapons.

A completely unnecessary and terrible loss which took the life of a 20 year sheriff's deputy in central California, Fresno Ca..

It would seem that casual unholstering of weapons should be disallowed and training should happen only at the range. Maybe this accident will cause a change in protocols.

This Infoeditor was on at work once when in the back office they were showing each other their pistols when one of them pointed the muzzle at this editor, perhaps unintentionally. This editor casually asked them not to point at him and asked if it was loaded. Much to this editor's dismay they dropped the clip and unchambered the live round which was in the barrel!!! See how easy it is to get shot???!!!
