Prosecutors say NSA contractor's alleged theft was "breathtaking" in scope

Former NSA contractor Harold Martin is now accused of stealing government documents going back 20 years.
The alleged theft of classified documents by a former NSA contractor from Glen Burnie was "breathtaking" in its scope, federal authorities said in a new court filing Thursday � spanning information produced over two decades that detailed some of the country's most sensitive intelligence operations.
Harold T. Martin III was quietly charged in August with stealing government documents, but the new filing lays out a much more expansive case against the Navy veteran.
Martin is seeking to be released from jail while his case moves forward and is scheduled to have a court hearing in Baltimore Friday. Prosecutors say the accusations against him and the risk he would pose if he goes free are too grave for a judge to take that risk.
