Benedict Cumberbatch coming soon as Marvel's "Doctor Strange" - see trailers
I'm not much of a fan of comic book movies but I am a big fan of actor Benedict Cumberbatch, so it caught my eye that he is starring in a new movie adaption of Marvel's hero "Doctor Strange". The movie will be released on November 4, 2016.
Below are two official trailers for the movie to give a taste of what it will be like.
Marvel's "Doctor Strange" follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe. Doctor Strange is scheduled to be released on November 4, 2016.[73] Various incarnations of a Doctor Strange film have been in development since the mid-1980s until Paramount Pictures acquired the film rights in April 2005 on behalf of Marvel Studios.[74] In June 2010, Marvel Studios hired Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer to write Doctor Strange.[75] In June 2014, Scott Derrickson was chosen to direct the film,[76] while Jon Spaihts was hired to rewrite the script.[77][78] In December 2014, Benedict Cumberbatch was chosen to portray the titular character,[78] while C. Robert Cargill joined the film to work on the script with Derrickson.[79] Filming began in November 2015 in Nepal before moving to the UK later in the month.[80][81][82][83]
