However, despite annual pronouncements of cures and breakthroughs that are just around the corner, all that research has failed to keep the incidence of cancer from continuing to increase. Most of the small reductions in cancer deaths are due mostly to earlier detection which increases five year survival rates – the yardstick conventional medicine uses to determine success.
