Jahar Tsarnaev, Gitmo Interrogators, and Jeff Bauman’s Aunt

In the Marathon case, when the FBI got finished with a perfectly healthy 26-year-old man, Tamerlan Tsarnaev – a boxer yet -- he was dead. . There were no gunshot wounds, as the alleged police shootout involving Tamerlan never took place. Much less did his brother Jahar run him over with a car -- as is still being reported.

That whole thing is fantasy, as can be judged by the “Podstava” video. Thus, it should be assumed that Tamerlan was beaten up while in custody of that criminal organization that we so jocularly call the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As for Jahar, then age 19, his boat hideout in Watertown was shot at with more than 200 bullets, the authorization for which escapes me. I am inclined to believe the rumor that an FBI person, on seeing him “unfortunately” emerge from the boat, attempted to slit his throat. (See news clip below from a SWAT team member.)

Nevertheless, as we know, Jahar made it to the hospital that night, April 19, 2013.

What does S-W-A-T stand for anyway. Does anybody know? Bet the "S" means special. Always get nervous when a government agency is "special."

The following injuries are documented in Defense Motion #13 and Motion #295 of the trial of Jahar (Dzhokhar) Tsarnaev:

Jahar was in critical condition with life threatening gun shot wounds to his head, mouth, pharynx, face, severe soft tissue injury, jaw, throat, left hand, both legs. Also, his scapula (shoulder blade) was shattered, apparently by gunshot. Damage to cranial nerves required that his left eye be sutured closed, and his jaw was wired shut.

Despite all that, and numerous surgeries occurring in the first few days after his arrest (or should I say his kidnapping, as the feds have no constitutional power of arrest, do they?) he was interrogated day and night with 30-minute rest periods in between. Or maybe the 30-minute interludes were to change his intravenous fluids, who knows?

The persons doing the interrogating were from the High Value team. This makes sense, in that it is now of very high value to keep Jahar out of everyone’s whispering range as he knows too much, wouldn’t you say? Maybe he even knows who slit his throat, or could identify him in a police line-up. Ah, police. Remember “police”?

Cheryl Dean, a writer at GumshoeNews.com in Australia, has described Jahar’s physical mess-up, and the precise timings of the Gitmo team’s visits. He didn’t have a lawyer present, which I thought was kind of standard, per the old Sixth Amendment routine.

For that matter no nurse or doctor was allowed to be with this teenager in the Intensive Care room! Mein Gott. The doctors sat in a glassed-separated adjoining space to keep an eye on the monitors. But ass far as I know there was no waterboarding or anything like that.

Today at GumshoeNews.com, Cheryl Dean has given us a look at the Victim Impact Statements that were the main feature of a special day, June 24, 2015, set aside for Jahar’s sentencing. At that point his death penalty had already been finalized by the jury, so the purpose of the big display of victim’s statements must have been to drive the message home.

One surprise victim was the aunt of Jeff Bauman. She sees herself as a victim of the Marathon bombing despite having been miles away that afternoon, at Franklin Park Zoo. Personally I, too -- despite living all the way down here in Australia -- felt victimized by the armored personnel carriers on the streets of Watertown. How shocking can American life get? And can it now get worse?
