There's an interesting loophole in the US Constitution that I noticed not long ago.

There are a few rules around how long a President can serve. The 22nd Amendment states that no one shall be elected to the office of President more than twice, and that no one that has served more than two years of someone else's Presidential term (such as if the President is assassinated and the VP takes over) can be elected to the office more than once. So most people think that the maximum that a person can serve as President is either eight year (two terms), or ten years (two terms plus two years of the preceding President's term)

However, note the key word in the 22nd Amendment. "Elected". In the case of resignation, assassination, or other untimely incapacitation of the President, there is a line of succession to replace the President. That person "succeeds" to the office. They are NOT elected. Teh 22nd Amendment would not apply.

Theoretically, Bill Clinton, Dubya, or Obama COULD run as Vice President. Once in office, if their President left office for any reason, they would succeed to the Presidency for the remainder of the term. And they were a fan of arranging "accidents", they could do so over and over and over again

With Hillary running for President, it's not far fetched that she might select hubby Bill as her running mate. She could likely win the election in November, and be sworn in January. In the event that the DOJ decides to prosecute her in the ongoing e-mail scandal, presuming she doesn't pardon herself, she could end up getting convicted, and then Bill would take over succeeding from the Vice Presidency back to his favorite Oval Office with a fully stocked humidor, and some blue dresses for the female interns.
