Judy Garland's Classic Movies are Superior in Mood & Content to Some Modern Productions

When you view the plots, singing and dancing, and the musical scores in many of Judy Garland's classic films you may feel a pleasant exhilaration, especially if your usual fare of movies is a run of modern film productions. This editor has mentioned here at RMN the appeal of films which don't use f-bombs and other strong profanity, nor nudity, etc., and, you don't find such in these old classic movies, so they are generally good for the whole family to view. Did you know that some folks don't watch any films that aren't pre-sixties?!

If there are scenes where the main character or characters appear down-and-out or sad it might only last for a short few scenes in order to provide some contrast to the overall plot-line, and, often these excellent musical films have a very happy ending to clinch the whole ride.
Looking, for example, at one of TCM's excellent 4 movie packs, "TCM Greatest Classics Legends: Judy Garland (The Harvey Girls / For Me and My Gal / Summer Stock / In The Good Old Summertime)", one finds some of Garland's best films. 'In The Good Old Summertime', also starring Van Johnson, is bound to be one of Judy's best.

Entertainers like Judy Garland have a marvelous inspirational gift that sends positive emotions and vibes throughout the viewing audience. Isn't this much better than just watching gun violence and what amounts to soft-core porn on some of today's more modern productions? This editor recommends such film collections, especially throughout the holiday season, a time for thinking love and avoiding unnecessary seasonal blues.
