According a source from Beirut's international airport, Lebanon's airspace is expected to close for three consecutive days as of Friday midnight due to, quote, Russian "military drills" set to take place in the Mediterranean Sea.

While Russia is referring to them as drills, they come at a curious time while Russian bombers intensify round the clock bombing raids on Syrian targets.

The airspace lock down by Russia over Lebanon will quote, " bring air traffic to and from Beirut's airport to a complete halt."

Some have speculated that these are not drills but preparations for a massive operation not yet seen in Syria.

As we reported several weeks ago, reports surfaced or Russian intent to use tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield.

It is unlikely, however possible, that this may be a dry run to test the full power of the modern Russian military for the world to witness.

Meanwhile, President Obama maintains a policy of “containment” against Islamic State forces he helped foster.
