Hemingway's story put to film with a distinguished cast. The music is by the magnificent composer, Bernard Herrmann, who scored music for 'The Ghost & Mrs. Muir', and also Hitchcock films and others.

Nominated for two Academy Awards; for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction (Lyle R. Wheeler, John DeCuir, Thomas Little, Paul S. Fox), this film was shot on location in Nairobi, Kenya, Cairo, Egypt, the French Riviera, so there should be some panoramic cinematography here, and should not contain strong language, at least no f-bombs.

The reported $12,500,000 at the box office is considered very high for that period. This is an epic sort of film that preceded the similar 'Out of Africa' by decades.

In fact, 'Out of Africa' had a similar theme where the central figure also told a story while having a disease as she looked back at life in Africa. It's good to release these epic films with some nature scenes every so often to free up the minds of viewers who are constantly fed indoor city themes in films and tv.
